SELF-CATERING ACCOMMODATION, BREDASDORP, OVERBERG, SOUTH AFRICA
Just a two-hour drive from Cape Town, taking you through the picturesque countryside and towns of Caledon and Napier, to Bredasdorp. Nearby attractions and places of interest include Arniston, De Hoop Nature Reserve, Elim, whale-watching spots, De Mond for the birders and Cape Agulhas, the tip of Africa, making Bredasdorp a very central place from which to explore the Overberg area. Other activities include driving out to Nacht Wacht Restaurant for lunch. You won’t be disappointed.
The Elim Wine Ward offers a wine route, where you can taste wines (Strandveld and Black Oystercatcher) and even have lunch at the Black Oystercatcher Restaurant. Drive through the historical small town of Elim, and keep a look out for wild – this area is part of the Nuwejaars Special Management Area, where wild (buffalo, hippo, zebras and a variety of buck) was reintroduced to the area. This is also is an area of note in terms of biodiversity – here on the Agulhas Plains you’ll see plants and fynbos found no where else on earth.
“Live with passion, live everyday”
“Visiting the Arniston Hotel in Waenhuiskrans is one of my personal favourites! Explore the beach and conservation areas of De Hoop and De Mond Nature Reserves or take a hike and see the wonders of the area. Bredasdorp itself offers so much in terms of coffeeshops, restaurants, galleries, handmade shops and much more.”
